Magna News - Magna Mirrors Earns Award From Toyota

AURORA, ONTARIO, Canada, September 18, 2009 – Magna Mirrors, an operating unit of Magna International Inc., has received a Launch Excellence Award from Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA). The award was presented at a recognition ceremony held in conjunction with TEMA’s Executive Business Meeting held in Covington, Ky.

Toyota recognized suppliers achieving the highest standards in launch performance and value analysis from across North America. Sixteen (16) awards were handed out to TEMA suppliers. Magna Mirrors was recognized for its role in the launch of the Toyota RAV4. From a manufacturing division located in Lowell, Mich., the company provides outside mirrors for the RAV4 to Toyota’s Woodstock, Ontario, plant.

"The past several months have been difficult for everyone in the auto industry, but our 500 North American suppliers have not wavered in their performance. Because of this continued focus on improvement, Toyota and its supply base are well-positioned for the future," said Tetsuo Agata, TEMA president.

“We are honored to be chosen by Toyota for this award,” said Jim Brodie, Vice President and General Manager, Magna Mirrors. “We pride ourselves on launch execution and it’s gratifying to have our team’s achievements recognized with this customer award.”
