AURORA, Ontario, July 5, 2012 – Magna International Inc. today announced that a manufacturing division of its Cosma International operating unit has won a Silver World Excellence Award from Ford Motor Company for demonstrating superior quality, delivery and cost performance in 2011. The 14th annual awards, Ford’s highest recognition for its suppliers, were given during ceremonies on May 31, 2012.

The Cosma Camacari facility in Bahia, Brazil, was one of 24 global supplier locations to receive the Silver Award. Cosma Camacari supplies chassis structures and welded metallic assemblies to Ford.

Tony Brown, group vice president, Global Purchasing, thanked the awarded suppliers for their dedication and hard work throughout 2011.

“Suppliers are a critical part of our success, and a driving force for continued growth at Ford Motor Company. Without the support, hard work and innovation of our suppliers, we would not be able to deliver on our promise to build quality vehicles,” Brown said. “In 2011, our suppliers stepped up to the challenge of building vehicles that improve commonality and efficiency in more ways than ever before, and we are grateful for their unwavering commitment.”

“On behalf of Cosma, we thank Ford for this recognition and look forward to supporting them with our innovative solutions into the future,” said Don Walker, CEO, Magna International. “In addition, congratulations to the management and staff at the Camacari, Brazil, facility for a job well done in achieving and maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.”
