Vehicle Engineering
Mit modernsten Entwicklungsmethoden begegnet unser Engineering-Team zentralen Herausforderungen wie der gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen CO₂-Reduktion, dem autonomen Fahren und der Plattformentwicklung – für eine effiziente Produktion und zur Erfüllung anspruchsvoller Kundenanforderungen.
Mit unserer langjährigen Erfahrung im Fahrzeugbau, insbesondere in den Bereichen leichte Nutzfahrzeuge (LCV), Nutzfahrzeuge (CV) und Spezialfahrzeuge, decken wir den gesamten Entwicklungsprozess ab, von der Konzeptphase über die Konstruktion bis hin zur Serienreife, einschließlich des gesamten Validierungsprozesses.
Unsere Kernkompetenzen liegen im Fahrzeugdesign, der Fahrzeugintegration und der Definition der Systemarchitektur, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Fahrzeugen mit elektrifizierten Antriebssträngen.
Propulsion Engineering
Unsere Entwicklungsaktivitäten im Bereich Antriebstechnik umfassen eine breite Palette an funktionalen Systemintegrationen sowohl für konventionelle als auch für alternative Antriebskonzepte wie batterieelektrische Fahrzeuge (BEV) und Brennstoffzellenfahrzeuge (FCEV). Darüber hinaus entwickeln wir Thermomanagement- und Energiemanagementsysteme sowie Softwarelösungen für fortschrittliche Fahr- und Antriebsfunktionen.
Wir bieten unseren Kunden maßgeschneiderte Lösungen, von der Konzeptentwicklung über Prototyping und Testing bis hin zur Serienproduktion. Dabei werden sämtliche sicherheitsrelevanten Anforderungen vollständig berücksichtigt und konsequent umgesetzt.
Die einzelnen Entwicklungsphasen werden durch unsere bewährten Prozesse und eine breite Palette modernster Prüfeinrichtungen umfassend unterstützt, darunter Testsysteme für vollelektrische Antriebsstränge, Höhen- und Klimasimulationen sowie Motorprüfstände auf Komponenten- und Systemebene. Ergänzt wird dies durch Hardware-in-the-Loop- und Powertrain-in-the-Loop-Systeme.
Software & Simulation
Magna bietet modulare Softwarelösungen für die Berechnung und Simulation von Fahrzeugen und die Entwicklung von Antriebssträngen sowie für die Analyse von Produktionseinflüssen.
Unsere Softwarelösungen ermöglichen es unseren Kunden, Entwicklungsaufgaben effizienter und kostengünstiger umzusetzen sowie Produktionsprozesse gezielt zu planen. Bereits in frühen Entwicklungsphasen lassen sich Robustheit sowie Geräusch-, Vibrations- und Komfortverhalten (NVH) von Fahrzeugkomponenten präzise vorhersagen. Thermal- und Energiemanagement‑Simulationen ermöglichen zudem die frühzeitige Analyse und Optimierung der Fahrzeugeffizienz auf Systemebene.
Unsere Ingenieure nutzen unsere eigenen Softwareprodukte, um die Produktentwicklung unserer Kunden im Rahmen von Engineering-Dienstleistungen zu unterstützen.

Testing Services
Magna verfügt über eine hervorragende Infrastruktur, die die gesamte Entwicklungskette abdeckt, einschließlich Tests auf der Ebene des Gesamtsystems bis hinunter zur Ebene einzelner Komponenten. Unser Erfolg beruht auf unserer Fähigkeit, gemäß globalen Standards zu simulieren und zu testen.
Die gesamte Bandbreite an virtuellen und realen Entwicklungstests wird intern durchgeführt. Dadurch können wir eine hohe Prozessqualität sowie ein breites Dienstleistungsangebot bieten, einschließlich der Komponentenfreigabe.
Unser führendes Testzentrum in St. Valentin, Österreich, ist ein Full-Service-Anbieter und betreibt ein umfangreiches Prüfgelände für Funktions- und Dauerlaufprüfungen. Es verfügt über vollautomatisierte Motor- und Antriebsstrang-Prüfstände für konventionelle und alternative Systeme, ein Ermüdungslabor (Festigkeitslabor) sowie einen hochmodernen Allrad-Rollenprüfstand (4WD) zur Optimierung von Funktion, NVH (Geräusch, Vibration, Komfort) und Emissionen an Gesamtfahrzeugen.
Tailored Smart Production
Mit unseren modernen Anlagen sind wir im Magna Engineering Center Steyr in der Lage, hochwertige traditionelle Antriebssysteme (z. B. Verteilergetriebe, Achsantriebe, Starrachsen) effizient herzustellen. Darüber hinaus sind wir auf alternative Antriebssysteme (eDrive-Produkte für verschiedene Fahrzeugsystemarchitekturen) und Zusatzkomponenten (z. B. elektrohydraulische Servolenkungspumpen) spezialisiert.
Von der ersten Planung bis zu den finalen Tests bieten wir umfassende Unterstützung, um einen erfolgreichen und effizienten Produktionsablauf sicherzustellen, im Einklang mit den MAFACT-Prinzipien. Darüber hinaus legen wir besonderen Wert auf End-of-Line-Tests sowie In-Line-Prüfungen, um höchste Qualitätsstandards zu gewährleisten. Mögliche Testszenarien umfassen Heißtests für Verbrennungsmotoren, NVH-Prüfungen sowie funktionale, dynamische und statische Tests von elektrischen Antrieben (eDrive).

We are pleased to contribute to the Technical meeting of AGMA / Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance (MPMA) event, a key forum for experts in gearing and motion technologies. A Magna colleague will deliver the technical presentation “Gear Root Fatigue Analysis using System Approach,” focusing on high‑fidelity durability assessment of gears under high-speed and complex loading conditions. The talk highlights a system-level simulation approach combining Transmission 3D and FEMFAT to accurately predict gear root strength, failure risk, and fatigue life by accounting for material behavior, manufacturing influences, and real operating conditions.
