6 Game-Changing Magna Innovations to Experience at IAA Mobility 2025

The future of driving is already taking shape — and Magna is helping define it. At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Magna is bringing that future to life — showcasing real, production-ready innovations that reflect what customers, regulators and consumers are demanding: smarter design, better safety and more sustainable materials.

But innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. At Magna, we design with the full vehicle in mind — solving real challenges and collaborating early with automakers to bring breakthrough ideas to life.

Here are six standout technologies that capture where the industry is headed — and how Magna is helping lead the way. Visit us in Hall B3, Booth E40 to experience them up close.

Advanced Driver Assistance System: Centralized Intelligence for Safer Roads

A future-ready, centralized ADAS platform engineered for flexibility and scalability.

This robust system integrates a comprehensive sensor suite—including front, corner and interior radar; surround-view, forward wide and narrow, rear tele, lateral and interior cameras; and ultrasonic sensors—all connected to a single High Performance Compute Unit. The result is a streamlined vehicle architecture capable of supporting a wide range of ADAS functions, from GSR Compliance through SAE Level 2(+, ++) and Level 3 capabilities.

For drivers, this translates into smoother lane changes, enhanced parking assistance, a more intuitive and personalized driving experience and increased confidence on the road.

DHD Duo Hybrid Drive: Electrified Efficiency Without Compromise

Dual e-motor hybrid transmission system delivering smooth performance, flexibility and electrified efficiency.

Magna’s DHD Duo is a dedicated hybrid transmission concept for optimized packaging built on a two e-motor architecture. It supports multiple electric driving modes — including serial, parallel and range-extender configurations — delivering a refined, responsive experience for HEV and PHEV platforms.

With up to 320 Nm of engine torque capacity and 210 kW of peak e-motor power, DHD Duo balances performance, efficiency and range across B to E segment vehicles. The DHD Duo is one part of Magna’s scalable hybrid transmission portfolio, with multiple products that meet global OEM requirements.

Digital Vision Systems: Smarter Mirrors for Safer Driving

Scalable mirror-integrated vision and monitoring — inside and out.

Our ClearView™ vision system brings together multiple functions in a clean, compact package. Inside the cabin, it integrates camera monitoring, with the option to include Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring Systems (OMS) into the interior mirror — offering clear rear visibility and advanced safety functionality in one user-friendly location.

Outside the vehicle, ClearView™ camera monitoring can also be applied to exterior mirrors, featuring a larger field of view with a live feed from the camera on the interior mirror.

This modular system enhances safety, reduces aerodynamic drag and adds design flexibility — all while supporting OEM-specific configurations.

Energy Storage Systems: Scalable Battery Solutions for BEV and Hybrid Vehicles

Efficient, scalable and structurally sound battery enclosures for every architecture.

From cast hybrid enclosures to advanced stamped and welded battery trays, Magna’s portfolio of high-performance energy storage systems is engineered for flexibility. Both the Cast Hybrid Battery Enclosure and our Aluminum and Steel Battery Enclosures are already in production, delivering optimized safety, manufacturability and performance. The portfolio also includes the OPTiForm™ Enclosure, which uses deep-drawn steel to maximize internal volume by up to 10%.

Whether optimizing for cost, crash safety, or thermal integration, Magna offers solutions ready for today’s EV and hybrid platforms — and tomorrow’s.

Magna EcoSphere: 100% Melt Recyclable Foam + Trim Assembly

The center of our vision is the circular economy. Through the reuse and regeneration of materials, our industry first system is delivering cleaner mobility.

EcoSphere is a mono-material foam and trim solution that enables full recyclability at the end of a seat’s life — no disassembly required. Compared to traditional foam pads and trim covers, our solution utilizes a 100% PET assembly.

Breathable, durable and mass-efficient, EcoSphere sets a new standard for sustainable automotive seating solutions.

Aural 5R and 2R Recycled Aluminum Alloys: Lightweight Meets Low Impact

Made from 100% recycled aluminum — without sacrificing performance.

Aluminum accounts for a significant share of vehicle weight — and its footprint. Magna’s Aural 5R and 2R alloys are engineered entirely from recycled content, offering a 95% reduction in energy use and up to 80% lower CO2 emissions compared to virgin (primary) material.

These alloys meet today’s strength and safety standards and are already under consideration by several global OEMs — helping close the loop on lightweight material use.

See It for Yourself

These innovations are just a glimpse of what we’re showcasing — but they represent something bigger: how Magna collaborates across product groups, integrates systems with purpose and delivers technologies that help our customers lead.

Whether you’re building the car of the future or refining what’s on the road today, let’s connect.
