News Release - Magna Receives Top Supplier Award from Volkswagen

AURORA, Ontario, June 23, 2014 – Magna International Inc. announced today that its Magna Powertrain operating unit has received Volkswagen’s top supplier award - The 2014 Volkswagen Group Award.  The 12th annual awards were presented on June 18, 2014, during a gala held at the Porsche Zentrum in Leipzig, Germany.  

Magna Powertrain is among a small group of suppliers that were recognized for excelling as a global supplier.

“We are honored that Volkswagen has recognized the Magna Powertrain team and our contribution to their success,” said Jake Hirsch, President Magna Powertrain. “This award reflects the considerable efforts we have made to support VW globally by developing and manufacturing innovative All-Wheel Drive systems for them.”

The Volkswagen Group has presented the Group Award to its best suppliers since 2003.  The award recognizes suppliers that play key roles in Volkswagen’s global growth.
